Spring Break

We had a lot of family fun during spring break. One nigth we took the family out for ice cream. We stayed up and had a pajama party and watched open season with the kids. The movie is a cute kids show that we all enjoyed. We then went to Dubuque Iowa which is off of the Mississippi river. It is such a cute little town. We stayed at the Grand Harbor Hotel which has an indoor waterpark. All of us had so much fun playing at the water park. After the day and a half stay at the hotel we drove to the Field of Dreams where they filmed the show. Also within that same city is historical toy museum.
Once we pulled up to the house later that night our children were very disappointed that our trip was over and that we were home. We all had so much fun. We posted pictures of all the fun we had on our spring break.

Some Fun Pics......

Good-bye Winter

Hello! We are happy to report that we have survived a very cold and snowy Iowa winter. The neighborhood is starting to defrost, and we are coming out of hibernation. A quick update:

Logan started karate and is loving it. He broke his first board, and has been excited for weeks about this. He gave his first talk in primary today. He read the whole thing himself and did a great job. He is so grown up.

Mariah is so happy that I'm feeling more energetic, and that we are running errands again. Since Harrison was born, my thyroid went out, and I didn't realize this until recently, so I've been very tired and weak the last 6 months. I rarely left the house, especially with any kids, and only ran the absolute necessary errands like grocery shopping. So she is thrilled to be out and about again. Mariah loves to sing and will walk around the house for a long time with any book she finds singing and singing. She also loves to listen to children's songs and dance to them.

Harrison is 7 months old!! He is sitting up, and is a lot happier now that he can sit and play. He still loves to watch the kids running around. He is eating cheerios and lots of other solids. He is still a happy guy who gives away smiles all the time. He just got another haircut, to even out his mohawk.

Tyler and I are doing great. We got our family a basketball hoop and we love to go shoot together. The other day we had several people from the neighborhood involved in a game of "knockout". Tyler is so happy with his hoop. We have been painting our house, and finally putting some pictures up. I even bought new curtains, which I have never done before. We are finally starting to feel like this is our home, and it is sinking in that I need to make the best of this move and be happy with it. I would say most days now, I am happy. I'll never stop missing Texas, and especially being close to family, but I do recognize the Lord's hand in our lives and we have been so blessed.
