The Real Housewives of Spring Break Hotel- 2012

Spring Break Hotel 2012 was legit.  Our home literally did become a hotel, with guests who stayed for days!

These real housewives of Des Moines endured a long road trip from Des Moines and still had their sanity in tact when they arrived.

We partied for days.  The kids played their little hearts out at home- from pirate hunts to marshmellow roasting, they made the most of every moment.

Sandy and I took our kids to Sea World.  This was the first time my kids experienced it, and they fell in love.  I have since been there 5 more times, and I still cry when Shamu makes her grand entrance.

There are some very important people missing from these pics, and I can't believe I missed them! Carly and her girlies drove down with Sandy as well.  She spent most of her time in San Antonio visint her BFF, and we were lucky to have them for an afternoon.  But I have no pics to prove the fun!

This real housewife of Texas has got to pull herself together!

Roomies Reunite

One day Julie realized that 3 of her roomies from college all lived in Texas at the same time. She used her persuasive skills to convince her husband that this was a sign. She. Must. Come. toTexas.

I was lucky to get her for a few days before we all came together for a stellar reunion.  Immediately upon picking her up, we headed to Threadgill's... a famous joint in Austin with downhome southern cooking, and the place where the live music tradition in this city began..

We did some shopping and visited various restaurants, including our family favorite: Hula Hut.

Jules earned her keep by cooking a delicious Indian dish. I've decided that food snobs are the best kind of house guests to have!

Cheri has been living in Austin for 6 years, and knew just the right place downtown to hang out.   South Congress is abundant with shops, music, food trailers and Austin weirdness.

We headed to San Antonio, where roomie #3 is a Pediatric resident.  Laura was able to squeeze us in to her insane schedule. More eating out, eating in and even more talking was the theme of the weekend. It had been 13 years since I had seen Laura. I'm so glad Jules came and brought us together. If the stars aligned for all 6 of us roommates to come together again, it would be a dream come true!

Mariah Basketball 2012

Mariah had a fun season. Thank the Lord for this girl's positive attitude, because to be honest, it was a little painful. She was placed on the youngest, newest team, but she never complained and had a blast.

After spending hours at the gym with her dad, Mariah is mastering the fundamentals of the game. She has a great looking shot and is a strong defensive player. Her specialty this season: rebounds. We look forward to next year when she will have the opportunity to try out for Hot Shots. It will be the first tryout experience of her little life.  Look at these pics of her in action... I would say, she's got a pretty good chance.

Way to go Mariah
