California

Besides wedding celebrations, we spent most of our Cali time on the beach.  Here are some things we managed to squeeze in while on land.

The first 2 things that happened were: Vovo jumping right into fun with the grandkids, and Mariah finding the smallest person around to pick up and mother.

We headed to the Science Center for some major hands on experiences.

It is fun to see your offspring enjoy things that you loved to do as a kid.  Definately one of my favorite memories of visiting my grandma was playing card games.  This picture of Logan enjoying the same thing with his great grandma is so special to me.

By this time in our trip, we had been away from home (Iowa) for 3 weeks.  Mariah and Chloe were missing each other terribly.  Skype time was helpful to keep these girls connected.

At Grandma's house, we enjoyed all of the company around.  My aunts and uncles, cousins and their families were so fun to be with.  It is rare that we have so many of us together.  There is such a sense of family pride when you are with these great people.  I enjoyed a lot of chats, games and relaxing with my extended family.  I could see that my kids felt that same joy and I felt so blessed to have them there.

Robyn, you are right about feeling that family pride when the whole family gets together. It's a great reminder that my story is bigger than myself.
